Byron Wickenheiser, RMP
Massage Therapist, Fascial Stretch Therapy
Byron is a 2013 graduate of the Central Maryland School of Massage. Shortly after graduating, he traveled to Florida where he received his certification in Deep Tissue Sports Massage. Here he discovered his true calling. Byron particularly enjoys the freedom of this modality as it allows him to utilize many of the techniques he has learned through his years of training. In a session, Byron may be placing therapy cups on one muscle area, such as your hamstrings, while working on another, like your sore shoulder. This melding of different techniques lets him provide relief of muscular tension and promote healing from inflammation.
Byron has also traveled to Arizona and Canada to augment his massage therapy practice. Here he achieved advance certification in Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). This modality uses assisted stretching to target joint capsules, freeing them from restriction. By working not only on the body’s musculature, but also the connective tissue that surrounds all body structures like a spider web, Byron strives to restore his clients’ bodies to their normal, pain-free, state and keep them moving comfortably through life.
Byron also holds certification though the company, Rock Tape, in Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) also known as Kinesiology Taping (KT). He is constantly exploring new opportunities to learn and expand his practice. When not working or learning, Byron can be found on his paddleboard, hiking, or camping. The mountains and beaches of Maryland and nearby states are fertile ground for his next adventure.
